Anyone Looking to Buy, Sell or Trade Glass Floats??
If you are looking for any particular glass floats for your collection, please let me know. I am aware of several people that might have something you are interested in. Many collector's prefer to trade, others have floats for sale.
I am personally looking for some rare European floats like the 3 Overlapping Fish, Whale, etc.
If anyone is interested in some of the Japanese floats I found in Alaska, please e-mail me. I have about 1,000 & I'd be willing to share some of them!!
Found a "Rare" Spindle Float - 12.1.06
I finally finished searching through the many floats I found on my November beachcombing trip. I originally thought we had found about 700 floats but it's now closer to 1,000!! Today I finally found one with a spindle in it. A spindle is usually created when a "blob" of glass from the sealing button drips down & attaches to the opposite end of the float, which leaves a thin "string" of glass. The spindle in the float I found isn't quite in the middle. It's closer to one side of the float but about 1/2" from the wall of the float. It's very cool though & the only one I found! I'll be adding some pictures of this float, along with others from my special finds!!
1st Glass Float Junkie Blog Entry - November 15, 2006
Hello to all reading this! Please use this blog to communicate with fellow glass fishing float collector's. If you have a float you'd like to sell, feel free to post information about it. If you have questions about floats, feel free to ask. Someone will be able to help!!! Although I am "new" to collecting glass floats, I have learned a lot about them in a short period of time thanks to some new friends that I share this interest with. Please enjoy & use this site my fellow glass float junkie's!! :)
